1 Who can apply for PJ&RI membership?

Membership is open to students and young individuals who are committed to justice, human rights, legal awareness, research, advocacy, and community service. Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria prescribed by PJ&RI.

2 When can I apply for membership?

Applications for General Membership are accepted throughout the year. There are no fixed application deadlines.

3 Can I apply directly for Senior, Fellow, or Executive Membership?

No. All applicants begin as General Members. Higher membership categories are awarded through promotion after fulfilling the prescribed eligibility criteria.

4 What is the General Membership fee?

The General Membership Fee is PKR 1,200.

The fee is payable only after you have successfully completed the interview and received an official membership offer.

5 Is there any application fee?

No. Submitting the membership application is completely free.

You will only be asked to pay the membership fee after your selection has been approved.

6 Is the membership fee refundable?

No. Membership fees are non-refundable once your membership has been activated.

7 How long is General Membership valid?

General Membership is valid for one (1) year, subject to renewal or promotion in accordance with the Membership Policy.

8 Do General Members receive a Membership Identity Card?

No.

General Members receive:

  • Official Membership Certificate
  • Membership Number
  • Digital Membership Verification

Membership Identity Cards are issued only to Senior Members, Fellow Members, and Executive Members.

9 How can I become a Senior Member?

You may be considered for promotion after completing one (1) year of active General Membership, subject to:

  • Good standing
  • Active participation
  • Recommendation by the Human Resources & Membership Division
  • Payment of the applicable Senior Membership fee
10 How can I become a Fellow Member?

Members may be promoted after completing two (2) years of continuous membership and demonstrating sustained contributions to PJ&RI.

Promotion is subject to approval by the Human Resources & Membership Division.

11 How can I become an Executive Member?

Executive Membership is awarded after three (3) years of continuous membership and requires approval by the Executive Board.

It is the highest regular membership category within PJ&RI.

12 Will membership automatically be upgraded?

No. Promotion is not automatic and depends upon eligibility, participation, conduct, contributions, and approval by the competent authority.

14 Can non-law students apply?

Yes. PJ&RI welcomes applicants from various academic disciplines who are interested in justice, human rights, legal awareness, public policy, advocacy, and community service.

15 Can professionals apply?

Yes, provided they meet the applicable eligibility requirements and are willing to contribute to the mission and activities of PJ&RI.

16 How are membership applications evaluated?

Applications are reviewed by the Human Resources & Membership Division.

Shortlisted applicants are invited for an interview, after which the Interview Panel makes recommendations for selection.

17 Can my application be rejected?

Yes. Submitting an application does not guarantee membership. All applications are evaluated on merit, eligibility, interview performance, and organizational requirements.

18 Can I apply again if I am not selected?

Yes. Applicants who are not selected may submit a new application after the prescribed waiting period announced by PJ&RI.
